Women want more equality and the world needs it 

Let’s be real — equality isn’t here yet.

The latest research shows women are still being held back, and it’s not just hurting them, it’s impacting families, organizations, and the global economy. When women aren’t fully supported, everyone loses.

 

The leadership playing field still isn’t level and the numbers prove it:

  • 66% of women receive negative feedback about their personal style. Only 1% of men receive that same kind of feedback. Let that sink in.
  • Women earn 84% of what men earn for the exact same work.
  • For every 100 men promoted to first-level management, only 87 women get that same shot. That’s the glass ceiling starting early.
  • Men interrupt women nearly 3x more than they interrupt other men. Spoiler: it’s not because women are talking too much.
  • Representation drops sharply the higher you go:
    • 48% Entry Level

    • 40% Manager

    • 36% Senior Manager

    • 32% VP

    • 28% SVP

    • 26% C-Suite

  • Meanwhile, 87% of North American companies say gender diversity is a top priority, but the numbers show there’s still a lot of lip service.
  • And if equity isn’t reason enough? Try this: Advancing women’s equality could add $12 trillion to global growth.
  • Plus, when 30% of senior leaders are women, companies see a boost in both profit and employee engagement

Let’s not sugarcoat it: leadership traits like assertiveness, directness, and self-promotion are rewarded in men but penalized in women. The bias is real, and it’s holding women back.
